Achilles (English Achilles, [ə'kɪli:z] — Achilles) is an English modification of the American anti-tank self-propelled artillery installation 3in Gun Motor Carriage M10 of the Second World War. The armament of the original version of this self-propelled gun, adapted to British standards under the name M10 Wolverine, was considered by British military specialists to be insufficiently powerful to fight the new German heavy tanks, so the weapon was replaced by a more powerful British 17-pound anti-tank gun QF 17 pounder.
