The M47 has a classic layout, with the engine compartment located in the rear, and the fighting compartment and the control compartment in the front of the vehicle. The crew of the tank consists of five people: commander, gunner, loader, driver and assistant driver. behind the rear fenders; 8576 copies were built. On the M47 tank, the angles of inclination of the front hull plates were increased, infrared observation devices and a heater for the crew were installed. The cast turret of a new, improved design was equipped with an upgraded, more powerful 90 mm M36 cannon with a muzzle velocity of more than 900 m/s.
