Despite this new engine, sales declined again (to 46,576), but this was due to the release of the Dodge Challenger and high insurance rates. In the 1970 NASCAR season, Dodge Charger scored more wins (10 wins) than any other car, including the special Dodge Charger Daytona and the Lymouth Superbird.
