The Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk is the result of a long and secret research program that began in the 1970s. As part of this program, numerous attempts were made to try to create an invisible aircraft, i.e. one that cannot be identified by radar. The first product was the Lockheed U-2, for which a radar-absorbing paint was used, later the Lockheed SR-71 was designed, which in addition to having the same paint, was covered with special metal sheets. The Lockheed F-117A made its first flight on October 15, 1982.
