Chance Vought F4U "Corsair" (English: Chance Vought F4U Corsair) is an American carrier-based fighter-bomber produced by the Vought airline company during the Second World War and the Korean War. The first sample was delivered to the Navy in 1942, the last to the French Air Force in 1953. A total of 12,571 aircraft of 16 modifications were produced, which is the record for the production of piston-engine aircraft in the history of American aviation.
