"Northrop" P-61 "Black Widow" is an American all-metal twin-engine twin-beam night fighter produced by the Northrop airline company, developed during World War II. Was in service with the US Army Air Force during World War II.
It took off for the first time on May 26, 1942, and in October 1943 it entered the mass production assembly line. The P-61 "Black Widow" was the first purpose-built night fighter in the history of US aviation, which was also the first to use airborne radar.
