1970 was the year the world first met the iconic Toyota Celica, and the car continued to innovate and impress with the top-of-the-line domestic market version, the Celica XX in 1978, followed by the second generation Celica XX 2800GT (known as the Celica Supra outside Japan). since 1981. Equipped with a 2.8-liter DOHC 6-cylinder engine, bold fenders and a roof spoiler on some export versions, the car was often seen on the racetrack; it was used as a marshal's car at the 1982 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, equipped with a BAE turbocharger and an increased output of 230 hp, which undoubtedly won the car even more fans over the race weekend.
