The FROG-7 is the latest version and entered service with the Soviet armed forces in 1965. It has a range of 68 km (42 mi) and deploys one warhead with at least six alternate payloads. The AA-22 and AA-38 nuclear warheads provide three yields from 3 to 20 kT, while the AA-52 provides four yields from 5 to 200 kT. It is also capable of carrying high explosives, submunitions and chemical warheads (up to 216 kg of VX nerve gas). The FROG-7 rocket has a length of 9.4 m with a diameter of 0.54 m. Its launch weight varies depending on the payload from 2450 to 2485 kg.
