T-55 is a Soviet medium tank. Created on the basis of the T-54 tank. Adopted by the USSR Army in 1958. Produced from 1958 to 1979. It is the world's first production tank equipped with an automatic anti-nuclear protection system. The Soviet modification of the T-55A tank was distinguished by an increased level of anti-nuclear protection due to the installation of anti-radiation materials outside and inside the habitable compartments, as well as the absence of a front-facing machine gun. Produced from 1962 to 1977.
