T-54 (Object 137) - Soviet medium tank. Adopted by the Soviet Army of the USSR Armed Forces in 1946, it has been mass-produced since 1947, constantly being modernized. Since 1958, a modification called the T-55 has been produced, adapted for combat operations in conditions of the use of nuclear weapons. Also in a number of countries, the T-54 itself or its modernized or adapted to local conditions variants were produced.
