40M "Turan" (Hungarian 40M Turán) is a Hungarian medium tank of the Second World War. It was created in 1940 on the basis of the Czechoslovak T-21 tank, developed by the Skoda company. "Turan" was serially produced from April 1942 to 1944; in total, according to various data, from 424[1] to 459[2] tanks were produced, not counting prototypes. "Turan" became the most numerous Hungarian tank of the Second World War and formed the basis of Hungarian tank divisions in the second half of the war, was actively used in the battles of 1944-1945.
