PT-76 (Object 740) - Soviet light amphibious tank. Adopted in 1951. During serial production, from 1951 to 1967, it was repeatedly upgraded, a total of 3039 PT-76s were produced, as well as a number of vehicles based on it. The tank was in service with the Soviet Army, but was subsequently largely replaced by the BMP. However, up to 100 tanks of this type were in service with the Russian armed forces as of 2004.
