Challenger 2 (English: Challenger 2) is the main battle tank of the British Ground Forces. It is also in service in Oman.
Great Britain ordered 127 Challenger 2 tanks in 1991 and another 259 in 1994. Oman ordered 18 tanks in 1993 and another 20 in November 1997. "Challenger 2" entered service with the British Army in 1998, the last machine entered service in 2002.
Tanks of this model are expected to be in operation until 2035.
