The M4 Sherman medium tank was the main tank used by the United States during World War II. It was produced in a significant number of units and at that time formed the basis of the US armored forces. it was produced in several variants and versions. Production of M4A3E8 versions began in late 1944. The M4A3E8, nicknamed the Easy Eight, featured several technical improvements that increased the Sherman's operational effectiveness. The 76mm high-velocity M1 cannon was surrounded by a new horizontal volute spring suspension system (HVSS), capable of providing better driving conditions and guaranteeing higher speed. The "Easy Eight" participated in the final stages of World War II and took an active part in the Korean War.
