The German army has always been an icon for modellers around the world. Of course, World War II models have a huge following and have been the darlings of the industry for decades, partly because the major Asian brands covered almost all cars that were in service during World War II, but also because of the abundance of existing historical documentation for modellers .
Bundeswehr vehicles were less popular among modellers, and some variants could only be made from resin kits or through complex conversions.
Everything is evolving, and in recent years (since the late 1990s) the largest brands have been spending more and more resources on developing scale models of various Bundeswehr combat vehicles.
