USS Seawolf (SSN-21) is the first American submarine of the same type. Built by the Electric Boat company (shipbuilding division of the General Dynamics company) at the Groton (Connecticut) shipyard. Laid down on October 25, 1989, launched on June 24, 1995, entered the fleet on July 19, 1997.
