Tu-142 (according to NATO codification: Bear-F) is a Soviet and Russian long-range anti-submarine aircraft (DPLS).
It was originally intended to detect and destroy enemy SSBNs in patrol areas. In fact, the Navy is used for long-range ocean reconnaissance, visual or electronic, for duty in the search and rescue service system, and only then for searching and tracking SSBNs (after the end of the Cold War).
