On November 1, 1956, the aviation unit of the Experimental Flight Directorate of the Italian Air Force was born. In honor of its sixtieth anniversary, IDS Tornado developed a special livery, which aroused great interest and received special praise during the anniversary event in October 2016. The 311th Flight Detachment today is one of the most technologically advanced aviation experimental centers. and consists of highly qualified and qualified employees. The Tornado IDS, the result of a joint Italian, British and German attack aircraft program in the 1970s, was produced in nearly 1,000 units, demonstrating its exceptional operational and aeronautical capabilities.
