Su-27 (according to the NATO classification - Flanker) is a Soviet heavy multi-purpose highly maneuverable all-weather fighter of the fourth generation. Designed to gain air superiority. Developed at the Sukhoi DKB, operation in the Air Force began in 1985, but was officially adopted only in 1990.
