The Kozak-2 armored car, owned by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, was developed by the Ukrainian enterprise Praktika Scientific and Production Association in 2009. Initially, a prototype was produced under the name SRM-1 "Cossack", but serial production was not started at that time for several reasons. Subsequently, in 2014, Praktika specialists began designing a new armored vehicle based on the SRM-1 "Kozak" using the Iveco Eurocargo chassis. By the spring of 2015, the Kozak-2 variant was presented. This armored car belongs to the MRAP class of combat vehicles, designed to protect the crew from mines and ambushes.
