The MaxxPro by Navistar is a Mine Resistant Armored Fighting Vehicle (MRAP).
Designed to protect against improvised explosive device (IED) attacks and ambushes, the MaxxPro can withstand ballistic weapon fire and mine blasts.
Navistar has delivered over 9,000 MaxxPro vehicles.
The MaxxPro vehicle incorporates a V-hull crew capsule design that is mounted on a Navistar International model 7000 chassis.
The purpose of the V-shaped hull is to repel a land mine or IED explosion from the vehicle.
The incorporation of this design allowed the MaxxPro to withstand a 7 kg (15 lb) mine explosion without any injury.
