Gorch Fock is a German training sailboat launched in 1933. At the time of launching, the ship had a length of 73.6 m, a width of 12 m, a full displacement of 1545 tons. Horch Fok was unarmed. It was a three-masted barge with an initial sail area of 1,797 m2. It had an additional drive in the form of a diesel engine with a capacity of 360 liters.
