The standard M1083 cargo vehicle is designed to transport goods and soldiers. The M1083 has a load capacity of 10,000 lbs and the bed side rails are hinged for easy loading/unloading. The cargo platform can be equipped with an optional bench seat kit for transporting soldiers. The bench seats are made of non-wood material and are attached to the side rails of the loading platform. The seats can be folded down and removed when not in use. Soldiers are assisted in and out of the cargo hold area using a ladder stowed on the vehicle when not in use.
