The standard M1078 cargo vehicle is designed to transport goods and soldiers. The M1078 has a load capacity of 5,000 lbs, and for easy loading/unloading, the side rails of the bed are hinged and can be lowered. The cargo platform can be equipped with an optional bench seat kit for transporting soldiers. The bench seats are made of non-wood material and are attached to the side rails of the loading platform. The seats can be folded down and removed when not in use. Soldiers are assisted in and out of the cargo hold area using a ladder stowed on the vehicle when not in use.
